Say hello to the new WTA leader in 2021 wins: @Ons_Jabeur 👋 Jabeur is into her third final of 2021 after Rybakina retired while trailing in the second set ⬇️
The points she might win by winning the event are crucial for Jabeur who has been one of the best performers in 2021 scoring over 40 wins so far. The Tunisian is fighting for a spot at the WTA Finals and any point she can get is very much needed. Nothing came overnight for Jabeur who slowly fought her way to this spot in her career:
“I’m glad that I’m learning from my losses against her or against any other player. The most important thing is the hard work through the years. I’m a different player right now. I have played a lot of matches, I have much more experience, and to manage the stress, to manage the fact that I had opportunities, it’s amazing to see that it’s paying off.”
Jabeur has been a true trailblazer becoming the first Arab to win a WTA title and now she is fighting to become the first Arab to play at the WTA Finals event. It's something that motivates her but also puts more stress on her:
“Knowing I can be the first Arab to qualify, it’s really unbelievable, you know, and it’s more stress on me."
Either way, Jabeur will give it her all to make it and if she wins the trophy at the Chicago Fall Tennis Classic it will be more than possible.
