Ons Jabeur keeps wowing Tunisian tennis fans with her superb play as she smashed her way past Rodina 6-1 6-3.
Jabeur is playing at home in Tunisia and her comfort level is clearly reflected in the way she is playing tennis. Very attractive tennis, very attacking tennis and with zero doubt as she powers her way past solid opponents in Monastir.
The first set was a rather quick one for Jabeur as she needed only 22 minutes to get it done. Rodina won only one game as Jabeur blasted winners left and right. She didn't hit her serve as consistently as she liked but she was just superb in rallies dropping only four points behind her serve. She also added three aces and that was enough 6-1.
The second set was far more competitive as Rodina was more accustomed to the way Jabeur plays tennis. There was a lot more battling in the games even if Jabeur controlled the match for the most part. An early 2-0 break was held firmly by Jabeur who finished off the set 6-3 but she didn't have much success later on. To be fair she didn't press the issue either.
The native player is now in the quarterfinals as she keeps going towards the trophy which would be a dream scenario for her.
