Naomi Osaka revealed her plans for the nursery of her daughter with Cordae in an interview with Vogue.
The 25-year-old tennis player recently announced the birth of her daughter Shai in Los Angeles through an Instagram post, where she shared pictures of her pregnancy and in the hospital, along with a photo of her newborn baby.
In an interview with Vogue magazine, Osaka shared the significance of the nursery for her baby, as she collaborated with Crate & Kids to design a room with a cloud mural and vibrant colors, aiming to create a peaceful environment.
“I just know that I really wanted a peaceful nursery. And I wanted somewhere the baby could get adjusted to as well, when she’s a little bit older. Not just in the infant stage. That was my main focus.” Japanese tennis player said.
4-time Grand Slam champion has already stated that after the birth of her daughter, she plans to take this year to recover from pregnancy and return in top form to compete in the 2024 Australian Open, a tournament she won in 2019 and 2021.
Osaka had a challenging 2022 season, struggling to achieve good results, with the exception of reaching the final of the Miami Open, where she was defeated by the nearly invincible Iga Swiatek.
Since then, she has won only two matches and lost six, with her last match being at the Tokyo Open. In the first round, she was leading 1-0 in the first set against Daria Gavrilova when the Australian retired due to injury. In the second round, Osaka was supposed to face Beatriz Haddad Maia, but she withdrew from the tournament before the match could begin.
