With the 2023 US Open fully underway, two-time champion Naomi Osaka appears to have gathered extra motivation as she prepares for her comeback to the WTA tour.
The Japanese superstar gave birth to her first child with her rapper boyfriend Cordae in July, as the couple welcomed their daughter Shai to the world. However, Osaka seems ready to return as on Monday, she shared pictures of herself working out in a bid to get set for her return to the tour.
The four-time Grand Slam champion posted a photo of herself standing on an athletics track beaming from ear to ear as she held a peace sign up to the camera. Next, she got down to business in a video showing her pulling a fitness sled with her trainer on top, who asked her, "Why are you going so slow?"
The workout session continued with a clip of the four-time Grand Slam winner running down the street in a friendly race with her workout partner. The post was rounded off with a mirror-selfie of Osaka, dressed in all-black workout gear, leaning against a treadmill.
After announcing her pregnancy at the start of the year, Osaka stated she would like to return to the tennis courts in time for next year's Australian Open in January.
