With only 3 matches set to take place in Italy on Saturday, the day at the
Palermo Ladies Open will begin an hour later as usually and so the schedule of play starts with a match at 17:00 (CET).
And it will be the match of the last two seeded players left in the draw that will kick-off the action on Saturday. The first-seeded
Petra Martic will take on no. 4 in Palermo,
Anett Kontaveit. The Croat defeated Kontaveit this year on the hardcourt in Dubai but the conditions in Palermo will be much different and the Estonian will have a chance to reach her first final of the 2020 season.
The second match will be special for the Italian fans.
Camila Giorgi is the last Italian player left in the draw and she will meet no. 53 in the WTA Rankings,
Fiona Ferro in her semifinal match. It will be the first meeting for the two, however, the French player is already on a 13-match winning streak during which she defeated players like Kristina Mladenovic or Ekaterina Alexandrova. Ferro didn't lose a set in Palermo and so it will be a difficult task for the Italian to make the home fans happy.
