Emma Raducanu has a very important sesaon coming up with the 2022 year slated to be her first full season as a tennis professional.
Even with limited experience Raducanu already boasts an impressive trophy cabinet with a US Open trophy proudly displayed there. The young Brit is determined not to rest on her laurels and she is adamant about wanting to learn as much as possible and improve as a player. Quite capable of that, Raducanu will still face some obstacles as has been noted by many seasoned professionals.
Pat Cash is one of them and in speaking about Raducanu he said:
“Emma Raducanu is a top player. Her challenge is to prove she can win big again and that she’s not a one-trick pony. The good thing for her is that because she has no obvious technical weaknesses her game is less likely to break down under pressure. She is a good athlete as well."
Cash, a Wimbledon champion and current coach of Qiang Wang further said:
“But I always found it easier to win big tournaments outside Australia. At home there was way more pressure. New York was the total opposite of Wimbledon for her in terms of pressure and expectation. Going forward she has to try to mimic what she did in New York but she might find that easier to do away from Wimbledon.”
