Paula Badosa played another solid match to take down
Diana Shnaider 6-1 6-3 at the Credit One Charleston moving on at the event.
After beating Lelyah Fernandez in the first round of the
Charleston Open, Paula Badosa kept a high level beating Shnaider in the second round. The Russian has had some impressive showings this year but today was not one of them as the Spaniard was able to establish control pretty early in the match.
Like against Fernandez, we saw Badosa control things really well with her serve which allowed her to save both break points. She dropped only two points behind her serve in the 6-1 demolition in the opening set. The second set featured better player from Shnaider but she still wasn't a match for Badosa who is playing really solid tennis right now.
Badosa had 5 aces and lost only six points behind her first serve with many of those being very tricky for the Russian to return. One bad part of Badosa's match was her level on the second serve which was not good overall and that's something she will need to fix moving on.
