Pavlyuchenkova wins first main draw match in 15 months after being runner-up at Roland Garros

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova was the runner-up at Roland Garros when Barbora Krejcikova won the event and she's had a tough time since then dealing with injuries.

An injury kept her out for a long time but she's finally back to playing tennis and earned her first main draw win after 15 months. It was a really tricky matchup against youngster Jimenez Kasintseva but she was able to prevail in the end 6-1 6-7(5) 7-6(7). The injury was a knee injury and it took her months to fully rehab it.

During that time, the Russian struggled both mentally and physically taking her a while to finally return to competitive form. She's been playing on the lower levels for a while before making her way to the top level and finally winning a match. It was a good moment for her as she hopes to return to the level that saw her almost win a grand slam.
