Pegula and Gauff likely to reunite in strong US Billie Jean King Cup side for next month's qualifiers

Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff will lead the United States in the Billie Jean King Cup against Austria.

The rosters of the tennis players who will play in the 2023 Billie Jean King Cup playoffs have been made official, which will take place on April 14 and 15. The teams will face each other in a single tie that will determine nine winning countries that will secure their place in the Finals at the end of the season.

Some of the players who will be part of the tournament this time are Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Caroline Garcia, Barbora Krejcikova, and Bianca Andreescu, who will lead their respective countries. The American team will have a powerful lineup with world No. 3 and 6, Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff. Madison Keys, world No. 20, and Danielle Collins, No. 31, will also play for the USA.

Gauff and Pegula are also an imposing doubles pair, currently ranked No. 3 and No. 5, respectively, and are joined by Caty McNally (world No. 19 in doubles). Only the Czechs Siniakova and Krejcikova appear as a higher-ranked doubles pair who will compete in the tournament (world No. 1 and 2), although they will not face each other at the moment.

In this occasion, United States will face the Austrian team, which will include Julia Grabher (world No. 93), Sinja Kraus (219th), Barbara Haas (468th), Tamira Paszek (528th), and Melanie Klaffner (912th). In doubles, the best-ranked players are Kraus (390th) and Klaffner (402nd).
