With the Billie Jean King Cup just days away, American tennis player Peyton Stearns has received a vote of confidence as she's been selected to represent Team United States at the event.
The Billie Jean King Cup will be hosted in Seville from November 7-12, 2023, with the United States slated to face reigning champions Switzerland on Thursday, November 9, and Czech Republic on Friday, November 10.

Stearns chosen to replace Keys on stacked women's team

The 22-year old will replace veteran Madison Keys, as she joins the already impressive lineup featuring a pair of former Grand Slam champions in Sloane Stephens and Sofia Kenin, in addition to the dangerous Danielle Collins and doubles specialist Taylor Townsend.
Stearns, who currently sits at World No.48, has seen her stock rise this season. The NCAA collegiate champion began the 2023 season with two titles on the ITF World Tennis Tour – in back-to-back events on American soil at W25 Orlando and W60 Rome, Georgia – and went on to reach the third round on her Roland Garros debut and the fourth round at the US Open. This has seen her climb from outside the Top 200 at the start of the year, to a career-high ranking of World No.43 in April.
