Playing for a 3rd week in a row didn't prove as a good idea for
Maria Sakkari who did not perform against
Karolina Pliskova today losing 1-6 2-6 at the
Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
Pliskova has been playing pretty decent tennis lately but it's not been the best she can play. Today was pretty close to it but she was greatly helped by Sakkari who could not win a point on her first serve early. She was all over the place not hitting the ball well, getting pushed around in rallies and generally just looking lost.
She was quite slow as well which was probably due to fatigue as this is the 3rd week in a row she's playing. They weren't short weeks either as she won at least once in both of the previous weeks. It's a disappointing loss for Sakkari considering the magnitude of this event but she simply did not have anything today.
Her winning percentage of points on her serve was abysmal all day as she was less than 40 % on both the first serve and second serve. Pliskova simply dominated and it's reflected in the score.
