Ashleigh Barty made a return to a tennis court for a great cause but she admitted that two cracks are tennis are more than enough for her.
There are plenty of tennis fans that are still disappointed by Ashleigh Barty calling it a career but the Australian is quite happy with her decision. Enjoying time back home in Australia, Barty made an appearance on a tennis court for a great cause, helping some youngsters with their tennis. It's been a while since we saw her on a tennis court but Barty is quite happy with the decision she made.
Speaking to media, Barty confirmed that her decision is indeed final and she won't be coming back:
"I'm absolutely fulfilled, happy and
content. I do have different things and different dreams and different
ways that I'd love to contribute to community sport. My athletic days are over."
Barty is currently serving as the First Nations Ambassador for Tennis Australia, a role that is very important to her due to her own heritage. Speaking about that role Barty added:
"It's an opportunity for our kids to come together, try new things and be culturally involved. It's incredible to see, this is what it's all about, it's about trying new things for the first time. I've
just been so grateful and appreciative of my journey across tennis and
beyond now, but to still be connected and be able to contribute in ways
like this, particularly with First Nations youth, is my passion. I love
it."
