Fabio Fognini is the latest player to withdraw from the Monte-Carlo Masters with a few spots opening due to that and fans have a clear idea of who they want to see.
Fabio Fognini is a former champion of the event having won it a few years ago but the Italian won't be back this year. It's a pity because it's one of the events that he loves and plays very good tennis at regularly.
He was in action in Estoril this week and picked up an injury against compatriot Cecchinato which forces him to abandon plans of playing.
Due to his withdrawal a few spots are open, particularly wild card spots because he was one of the recipients. There are two available and fans want to see native players Arthur Fils and Luca Van Assche get it. Both have played really well this year and are among the new talented French players emerging.
