The second round is in full flow at the 2023 China Open with many of the top names in action and in our preview, we look at the main talking points ahead of Day Four.

Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Elena Rybakina all play on an action-packed day in Beijing.

Sabalenka and Pegula begin proceedings on show courts

After easing through her business in her opening tie as World No.1, Aryna Sabalenka will return on Tuesday morning in the early hours to play Brit ace, Katie Boulter.

Boulter unlike her boyfriend, Alex de Minaur is still involved having won through qualifying and defeated Magdalena Frech to set up a tie with Sabalenka.

Jessica Pegula will play on the Lotus Court starting at the same time against Anna Blinkova. After losing in the final in Tokyo to Veronika Kudermetova, she received a performance bye so has had a few days grace compared to other players and now faces the Russian.

Also beginning at 6:30 CET is Caroline Garcia. She faces off against Yulia Putintseva with Coco Gauff also set to face Petra Martic second up on the main Diamond Court.

After easing past Ekaterina Alexandrova in the opener, she will return in her second match after the US Open.

Swiatek, Rybakina, Andreeva and Sakkari also in action

There is also the matter of Iga Swiatek aiming to return to some semblance of form. She faces off against Varvara Gracheva after her run to the Quarter-Finals in Tokyo losing out to Veronika Kudermetova.

Elena Rybakina who didn't play in Tokyo due to the performance byes fiasco and mainly due to illness swept aside recent Asian Games gold medalist, Qinwen Zheng. She faces Tatjana Maria.

While Mirra Andreeva who came through qualifying and made light work of Barbora Krejcikova and will now face Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. A revived Russian who lost to the eventual champion in Tokyo and both players in good form.

As is Maria Sakkari who after reaching the semi-finals in Tokyo after winning Guadalajara will face Linda Fruhvirtova in one of the final matches on the schedule on Tuesday.
