The match was an interesting one that saw three quite different sets of tennis. The start of the match featured a very slow start by Stephens who did not play well at all. Raducanu entered it a bit shaky as well but quickly found her rhythm and confidence. She blasted away from the baseline easily racking up games and finishing off the set with 6-0.
It looked very similar to the tennis she showed at the US Open and Stephens had no answer for it. Raducanu started missing more in the 2nd set and Stephens actually found some rhythm of her own. She took an early break 2-0 in the set and never quite looked back winning the est with 6-2. Raducanu did not play a very good set at all and made a lot of mistakes which got some of her fans worried.
However, she quickly put those worries aside with some stellar play to start the final set. She was on fire once again from the baseline and Stephens was not hitting as well as she did before. She stayed in most rallies but every time she needed to produce a winner she missed it. Raducanu took a 2-0 lead which became a 5-0 lead after which it became a 6-1 victory.
