Britain’s tennis star
Emma Raducanu is now edging closer to
dropping out of the top 200 women’s singles players in the WTA rankings.
The 20-year-old has not played a single tennis match at the highest
level since April earlier this year after dealing with fitness concerns.
It is because of this reason, Raducanu is now edging closer to
dropping out of the top 200 players in the WTA rankings.
The Toronto-born is placed on the 194th spot in
the latest WTA rankings announced after the US Open.
It will be interesting to see whether Raducanu, who has been
pushing to return to the court as soon as possible, will resume tennis
activities before the end of 2023.
The young tennis star broke onto the second in 2021 when she won the US Open title after beating Canada’s Leylah Fernandez in the final with
a score of 6-4, 6-3.
That victory was more special considering that Raducanu
started the competition form the qualification round.
However, since then, not
much has gone right for the former world number 10 who has not managed to play
in the third round or beyond in any of the Grand Slams.
