Federer brings out new On Running trainers to mark Laver Cup

Roger Federer unveiled the new On Running sneakers to celebrate the 2023 Laver Cup.

The former Swiss tennis star introduced a new collaboration with the On Running brand, known for its footwear and sportswear. This time, Federer has co-created two limited-edition sneakers for the upcoming 2023 Laver Cup, which will take place from September 22nd in Vancouver.

Federer shared some photos on Instagram wearing the limited-edition sneakers, known as "The Roger Spin" and "The Roger Pro."

"As Team World gets ready to take on Team Europe in Vancouver, we’re hyped to announce limited editions of THE ROGER Spin and THE ROGER Pro – co-created with @on_running to celebrate the 2023 edition of @lavercup," The 42-year-old wrote on Instagram.

The former world No. 1 will make a special appearance at the 2023 Laver Cup, marking one year since his last competitive outing as a professional tennis player. The 20-times Grand Slam champion bid farewell to his fans by playing doubles on the central court.

In that match, he partnered with his long-time rival Rafael Nadal, and they were defeated by the American duo of Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe. The event also saw the presence of Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, with whom he shared virtually his entire career:

"I miss Laver Cup a lot as a player, with my last match also played there with Rafa on court and Novak and Murray and everybody. You know, just there celebrating my career has been a beautiful moment in my career," he said.

"I am very much looking forward to Vancouver and the Laver Cup being there, only heard great things about the city. so I am really looking forward to see how the Canadian fans will be, especially with their great players coming up," Federer added.

This year's edition of the Laver Cup will see Team World, captained by John McEnroe, trying to defend the title they won last year against Team Europe, led by Bjorn Borg.
