Anett Kontaveit has withdrawn from the Indian Wells Masters which will continue her rankings drop as she stares a dropout from the top 100 a little over a year since she was ranked number two.
Anett Kontaveit had a crazy run on the WTA under coach Dmitry Tursunov who lead her to multiple trophies including a career-best ranking of number two. The Estonian split from Tursunov in the meantime and her tennis suffered. She didn't play that well even before they parted ways but it clearly didn't help.
Some injuries created problems as well as she's on her way to drop out of the top 100. She won't play in Indian Wells and her return date remains unknown.
