Results of the second day at the Guangzhou Open, second-seeded Wang is out

The second day at the Guangzhou Open completed the line-up of the last 16 players who will fight in the second round.
In the first three matches we could see 3 three-set battles. Blinkova advanced through Sorribes Tormo after the Spanish retired. Sixth seeded Zheng as well as qualifier Zavatska turned their matches after both lost the first set.
The first seeded Svitolina and the third seeded Kenin were able to advance without any problems. Svitolina was originally supposed to play with the winner of the Nanchang tournament Rebecca Peterson, who, however, withdrew from the tournament. Svitolina played against Jakupovic, who she defeated 6-3 and 6-3.
Petkovic, Paolini and Stojanovic, who plays in great form, also made it through. The biggest surprise was in one of the last matches, when wild card Shuai Peng was able to beat the 12th woman in the WTA ranking player and the second-seeded at the tournament Qiang Wang 7-5 and 6-2.
