Former World No.1 Andy Roddick does not agree with the climate change protesters, who interrupted the semifinal match between Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova at the 2023 US Open.
There was a 45-minute delay at the start of the second set of the match, brought about by some climate activists in the stands of Arthur Ashe stadium. NYPD police and security eventually escorted the disruptors out of the premises, with the individuals donning shirts that read "End Fossil Fuels."

Roddick not a fan of the delay caused by the protestors

The retired American pro took to social media to reshare a tweet about the delay, which pointed out the irony of disrupting the match.
"Because of this fossil fuel protest at the #USOpen, these massive lights at Arthur Ashe Stadium will be on thirty minutes longer," read the tweet.
The match would eventually resume, with Gauff defeating Muchova in straight sets to reach her maiden US Open final.
