Carlos Alcaraz was able to neutralize Medvedev in large parts of the first set with the latter hitting some aces but also 6 double faults.

The first serve percentage of the Spaniard was at a convenient 83% compared to Medvedev's 57% in the first set, but the Russian somehow managed to bring matters to a tie break, thanks to winning still a lot of points on serve.

The most recent of these came in the semi-finals of Wimbledon, where eventual champion Alcaraz ousted Medvedev in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.
