World number one
Carlos Alcaraz once again showcased his
talent during the
US Open 2023.
The fourth and final Grand Slam of the year is moving
towards the business end as players continue to battle to secure the ultimate glory.
Alcaraz, who is now the talk of the town after securing his maiden
Wimbledon triumph last month with an unbelievable win against Serbia’s Novak
Djokovic in a five-set thriller, defeated Britain’s Daniel Evans in the round
of 32 clash with a score of 6-2, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 on Saturday.
During the sixth game of the fourth set, the 20-year-old
once again reminded everyone of his talent.
While facing a serve to earn a much-needed breakpoint,
Alcaraz produced a worldie from an unbelievable position which clearly left Evans
stunned.
Alcaraz will be hoping to continue producing similar kinds of
performances in the matches to come.
He is currently defending his title at the Flashing Medows
which he won last year after beating Norway’s Casper Ruud in the final with a
score of 6–4, 2–6, 7–6(7–1), 6–3.
The young tennis
sensation is now set to face Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi in the round of 16 clash on
Monday.
