Former world number 3 Pam Shriver never won a singles grand slam trophy but she has won plenty of doubles ones and she believes
Roger Federer won't win a major in 2022.
Roger Federer has had a tough 2021 season as his return to tennis was not as successful as he planned. He suffered a setback with his knee that forced him to abandon his plans of playing further in 2021 hoping to return better in 2022. Federer underwent yet another knee surgery that left him crutches for a while but he is set to make a full recovery.
Many believe all of those efforts were made in order for Federer to make one final push in tennis during the 2022 season. Tennis legend Pam Shriver wants to see Federer back on the courts as a tennis fan yet she does not believe he has what it takes to be a major champion once more.
She explained how she believes that Federer can not stand as a Major contender in 2022, giving advantage to his opponents to move in front of him for the first time. It's not a controversial stance at all because it remains to be seen in what conditions Federer returns at all. Knee surgeries are tricky and his knee had several. How will it handle the wear and tear of consistently playing again remains to be seen.
