Aryna Sabalenka is not working with a sports psychologist anymore because she realized that she needs to solve her on court issues herself.
The 24-year-old will contest the Australian Open final after stringing together some impressive performances to continue her excellent start to the year. She won a trophy already and now will be looking to add a grand slam trophy to her name as she tries to do something she has not done yet in her career.
She was using a sports psychologist after some issues last year but stopped to figure things on her own:
"To be honest, I decide to stop working with a psychologist. I realized that nobody than me will help, you know? Yeah, on the pre-season I spoke to my psychologist saying, like, Listen, I feel like I have to deal with that by myself, because every time hoping that someone will fix my problem, it's not fixing my problem."
She added:
"I just have to take this responsibility and I just have to deal with that. Yeah, I'm not working with psychologist any more. I'm my psychologist. I talk a lot with my team. Also with my family. I think I know myself quite well. I know how to handle my emotions."
