Sabine Lisicki welcomes firstborn child, swarmed with well-wishes by WTA colleagues

German tennis star Sabine Lisicki recently announced the birth of her daughter, Bella, with her fiancé, leading to several members of the WTA Tour sending kind words to the new mother.
The 34-year old has not played a professional tennis match since December 2023, when she was knocked out in the first round of ITF United Arab Emirates 01A. Subsequently, Lisicki announced in March 2024 that she was expecting a baby with her fiancé.

On Sunday, September 8 2024, Lisicki shared the first glimpse of her daughter with the world. The former World No.12 posted a photo showing her and her fiancé gently cradling her daughter's head in their hands.
"Our hearts are filled with love and happiness, as we are humbled to welcome Bella to our world," wrote Lisicki in a caption.
Several fans, in addition to members of the WTA Tour, were quick to extend their heartfelt wishes at the good news.
“Beautiful miracle! Congratulations!” wrote American Shelby Rogers, who just retired at the 2024 US Open.
"Congratulations!" wrote Polish player Magdalena Frech.
"Congratulations!" wrote American Ashlyn Kruger, adding three heart emojis.
Lisicki has won four career WTA singles titles, and shocked the world when she reached the 2013 Wimbledon final. However, she would fall to retired French player Marion Bartoli in straight sets.
