Serena Williams, a "stay at home mum" celebrates milestone following retirement from tennis

WTA legend Serena Williams  shown a glimpse of her life post-retirement and joked that she is now a “stay at home mum.”

The tennis legend played her final professional match earlier this month when she faced Ajla Tomljanović in the third round of the US Open.

Now, she embarks on the next chapter in her life, which will see her focus on her family. Williams posted an update on Twitter on Monday to mark a big moment in her daughter Olympia’s life.

“Ok first day of Kindergarten,” the 23-time Grand Slam champion wrote, along with the hashtags #stayathomemom and #workingmom.

Of course, despite Williams calling time on her tennis career, she is still very much involved in her other business ventures as well as being a mother to Olympia.

When she announced her retirement in her emotional write up, she worded it as she would be “evolving away” from tennis in order to focus on other aspects of her life, the main focus being on her family.

Since giving birth to her daughter in September 2017, Olympia has been present at many of Williams’ tennis matches. The iconic mother and daughter duo have made headlines on numerous occasions in the past as they’ve sported matching outfits, including their attire on the red carpet for the premiere of ‘King Richard’.
