Retired WTA star Maria Sharapova announced her engagement to British millionaire, Alexander Gilkes, on Thursday.
The duo have been dating since 2018, and Sharapova took to Instagram to reveal that the two were officially engaged. The five-time Grand Slam champion also released two videos of the couple to mark the occasion.
Alexander, 40, is the co-founder and president of Paddle8, an online auction house. He is believed to have become friends with Prince William while studying at Eton. Furthermore, he was also a guest at Princess Eugenie's wedding in 2018.
