It was business as usual for seventh seed Mirra Andreeva, who powered through to the third round in spectacular fashion at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships on Thursday.
The World No.7 battled past Lucia Bronzetti in the second round, racing through a 6-1 first set before her Italian opponent raised her intensity. However, it was not enough as Andreeva maintain her rhythm to secure a 6-1 7-6(4) victory and progress to the third round at SW19.

Andreeva credits Martinez after the match

Currently coached by former Wimbledon champion Conchita Martinez, the duo have experienced a lot of success together. Andreeva won consecutive titles in Dubai and Indian Wells under Martinez's tutelage, reaching a career-high ranking of World No.6 in the process.
The teenager has a well-documented healthy relationship with Martinez, despite the latter being three times her age. The duo are often seen sharing jokes during practice sessions, which led to Andreeva making a humorous comment at her coach's expense during her post-match interview on Thursday.
"I think we should ask Conchita what we're going to work on next because I'm sure she's not going to just let me go home," said Andreeva when asked of her plans following her victory. "We're gonna stick here for a couple hours to maybe practice or something.
"Yeah, it's not going to be easy but what can I say? She pushes me to my limits so thanks for that I guess?"
This produced a slight chuckle from Martinez, who was watching from the coaches box. Andreeva is also competing in the women's doubles event, teaming with compatriot Diana Shnaider. However, her next singles opponent is American Hailey Baptiste, who defeated Canadian lucky loser Victoria Mboko in their second round encounter.
