Caroline Garcia on Iga Swiatek: "The WTA Finals is a challenge. But she's a challenge just by herself." Garcia is the only player in the field who has a win over Swiatek this season. They'll face off again in group play. #WTAFinals
Caroline Garcia is the only player in the WTA Finals field to have beaten Swiatek this year and she's ready to do it again.
Iga Swiatek did not lose too many matches this year but one of those came against Caroline Garcia. The French player handed her a rather painful loss as it was in Warsaw on clay, the only event in her native country.
Speaking ahead of the event, Garcia said:
"The WTA Finals is a challenge. But she's a challenge just by herself."
She added:
“She lost very few matches. I won against her in Poland, but it was in very different conditions. She was playing in Poland, and it was probably her first time. It's a whole different match for sure. It’s group stage as well. I will try to play my game, and be aggressive. That’s my way of playing, and that’s probably the best chance I have to beat her.”
