Teichmann pulled off a 4-6 7-5 7-6(5) victory against Victoria Azarenka in what was the longest match at 2022 Roland Garros so far.
It was a match where Azarenka was totally in control for the majority of it being a set up and a break up. Not long was she a break up but she was two games away from winning it. However, Teichmann kept fighting and fought back to win the match:
"I knew I was going into a battle. One of the best qualities of Vika is being a fighter, as am I. I have been coming up with some great matches on clay, long matches. I knew I will have my chances, I will have to keep calm and do my part."
Teichmann is receiving quite a bit of crowd support all week long and she is thankful for that because it is making a difference:
"The atmosphere was incredible today. I have the impression I'm at home. The crowd was here, supporting me, cheering me. They gave me energy. That was very important to stay throughout the match, which was a long match."
