Simona Halep tried very hard to overcome a strong Serena Williams but ultimately she could not do it and after the match, she said that Serena was stronger.
It was a bumpy Grand Slam for Simona Halep where she had to overcome several tough matches in order to reach the quarterfinals but that was as far as she would go. After her defeat against Serena Williams she said:
"My feeling after this match is that I was not that far, but also, she was stronger in the important moments. I accept she beat me, but also if I could be a little bit stronger with the serve the chance could have been a little bit bigger for me."
Halep also spoke about the overall impression of the tournament and how she battled a bit of a negative attitude throughout it:
"In my opinion, I had a good game tonight. I'm not that disappointed about myself. Attitude maybe a little bit negative the whole tournament, but I'm gonna work on this, and I will come back stronger, for sure, with that."
