Taylor Fritz and
Corentin Moutet was engaged in a heated discussion during their
Queen's Club Championships opening round tie as the American aim to continue his exceptional grass court form from Stuttgart where he won the title.
The umpire in the end had to step in and separate the two players from any further barbs. Albeit Fritz in the end ironically saw the funny side of it all. Fritz took on Moutet in the opening round but his form didn't continue as the Frenchman sealed it 6-7, 7-6, 7-5.
Ironically as a result, it was Moutet that had the last laugh as after the argument, Fritz was seen smirking on his bench. But Moutet went on to win anyway. It nearly was sparked again as Fritz hit Moutet directly in the face causing the Frenchman to go down.
But thankfully he was able to continue and accepted Fritz' apology. Now the American moves on to his next tournament, Moutet on the other hand moves on at Queen's Club.
