Women's world number 2, Simona Halep announced on her social media that she has tested positive for the COVID-19.
The 2-time Grand Slam champion played her last match at this year's Roland Garros when she lost to Iga Swiatek in the fourth round. Since playing in the capital of Paris, Halep didn't sign up for any more tournaments and so the 2020 season was already over for her as there were only tournaments in Ostrava and Linz left to be played.
Now, after a few weeks after the 2020 Roland Garros, the 29-years-old Romanian announced that she has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating. "Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know that I tested positive for COVID-19. I am self-isolating at home and am recovering well from mild symptoms. I feel good... we will get through this together," Halep wrote.
