America’s tennis star
Sloane Stephens has stated that she
would never play tennis again if she wins another Grand Slam. The 30-year-old
was recently quoted in a report where she expressed those opinions.
"There's more, I feel like there's more,” he said. “But
let me tell you this, if I win a Grand Slam, I’m never playing tennis again.
That would be the last, I’ll be like: 'I'll see you guys never, I’m out.
"If you win a Grand Slam, I’m going to ask for my bonus
check and I’m going to quit the next day too. Because my kids and my wife, they
miss me. So, as soon as you win again, cut the check and let me go about my
business."
Stephens is a one-time Grand Slam winner as she lifted the
US Open in 2017 after beating fellow American player Madison Keys in the final
with a score of 6-3, 6-0.
The Florida-born had a rather disappointing time in the
recently concluded Australian Open where she was knocked out of the competition
after losing in the third round to Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya with a score of
6-7, 6-1, 6-4. She is now set to play in the Qatar Open where she will face
Romania’s Sorana Cirstea in the round of 64 clash on Sunday.
