The match started better for Golubic, who eliminated 2 seeded players, Sinakova and Zhang, in the previous rounds. The Swiss player took the opponent's serve twice in a row and won the first set 6-2.
The second set, however, was almost decisive, when it was just in a tie-break that the Australian managed to win 7-4. Stosur already dominated in the third set when she won 6-1 and advanced to the first final this year. After the semifinal match she said:
"I just tried to hang in there and find a way to start playing a bit better," Stosur said after the match. "She's very tough to play against so I'm just happy to get through.
"This is where everyone wants to be, so to now make it to the final, I'm really happy and I'll give it my best shot tomorrow."
In the final she will meet the winner of the match between Anna Blinkova and Sofia Kenin.
