Elina Svitolina and
Elena Rybakina defeated their opponents to reach the final at the
Internationaux de Strasbourg.
The first semifinal at the Internationaux de Strasbourg was played between Rybakina and Hibino. The Russian entered this match in very good form and her stellar played continued today. Hibino defeated some big names en route to the semifinal and her feisty style of play with hard groundstrokes can be difficult to overcome. Nonetheless, the Russian had no issues winning the match 6-3 6-4. The key was her serving as he was very good both on her 1st and 2nd serve also saving all three break points she allowed.
Her opponent in the final will be Elina Svitolina who booked a place in the final following a hard-fought victory over Sabalenka. It was a tough two-hour battle where Svitolina won the 1st set with ease 6-2. She looked comfortable on her own serve while being very dangerous on the opponent's 2nd serve. Sabalenka turned things around in the 2nd bettering herself in every category and besting Svitolina in most of them.
It allowed her to win the 2nd set with 6-4 before losing out in the final one. Sabalenka had her chances breaking Svitolina a few times but sadly for her serving woes from the 1st set returned in the final one. Svitolina seized that opportunity breaking Sabalenka three times en route to a 6-4 final set victory.
