Swiatek is keeping true to her wrecking ball nickname as she demolishes another player on the court with
Leylah Fernandez winning only a handful of games against her 6-1 6-2.
Swiatek has been playing at a really high level after suffering a disappointing exit from the Australian Open. She's proving too strong for pretty much anybody who challenges her and Fernandez had no shot. The Canadian has had her own struggles with form and tennis lately and today showed that she's nowhere close to her best.
Swiatek took an early lead of 3-0 which became customary lately. They might as well start matches 3-0 considering how well she's playing. She would add another break en route to the 6-1 finish. It was a competitive match in terms of rallies as Fernandez on a few good ones but overall she simply did not have enough consistency in her game.
The second set followed that trend as Swiatek once again smashed Fernandez who is not on that level. It's hard to imagine which player currently could challenge Swiaetk outside of maybe Sabalenka and Rybakina. Fernandez never had a shot 6-1 6-1.
