World No.1
Iga Swiatek was undoubtedly the best player on the WTA tour last season, and the Polish star is being recognized for her performance as she's been nominated for the Best Athlete ESPY Award.
Swiatek compiled an incredible 67-9 record last season, capturing eight titles including two Grand Slams (French Open and US Open). Furthermore, she accumulated an amazing 37-match winning streak, rising to World No.1 during her tremendous run.
This will be Swiatek's first ESPY nomination, and there is a fairly strong chance that she runs away with the award. Not only is the 22-year old a fan-favorite, but her stellar performance last season is not easily rivalled.
