Iga Swiatek admitted before the Dubai Championships that she hasn't peaked yet as her preferred surface of the clay is not around the corner and that's bad news for the rest of the field.
Swiatek has been utterly dominant last year winning trophies on clay and hard courts alike. She's already won one big trophy this year and she's not looking to stop. Before the Dubai Championships, Swiatek admitted that she hasn't really peaked yet which might be trouble for the rest of the field:
"Well, I don't think I peaked because there are, like, many pretty nice tournaments [left] that I like, like Rome, Roland Garros, basically whole clay season. I wouldn't say that I peaked. I just got my level up comparing to Australia, that's all."
Swiatek destroyed everybody in Doha which is scary to think about considering that apparently, that is not her peak. When she gets back on clay where she is strongest, it's likely going to be game over for the rest. Speaking on Australia, Swiatek said:
"It was the beginning of the season. My pre-season was pretty intense on court and also off court. I still feel like I did a really good job in United Cup before the travel day that we had. I was playing really, really solid matches. On Australian Open, as well. I played against Elena, and she totally deserved to win. She went to the final later. For sure she was in a good shape."
