Iga Swiatek made history by beating Karolina Pliskova 6-0 6-0 in the Rome Master's final.
It was a sensational display from Swiatek who completely demolished Pliskova in the Internazionali BNL d'Italia final winning 6-0 6-0. The Polish player was on fire from the start hitting winners left and right completely blowing Pliskova away. The first set was a bagel and it lasted only 21 minutes. Iga lost only 4 points in the entire set. Pliskova was awful and could not do anything. She served poorly committing 4 DF with zero aces. She lost all 2nd service points.
The 2nd set did not bring anything better for Pliskova who got completely demolished in the 2nd set as well. It looked like a carbon copy of the first set as Swiatek was up 6-0 5-0 rather quickly. By that point, she lost only 9 points in the match. Pliskova did manage to hit an ace and had a couple of game balls in the last game but Swiatek completed the historic result winning 6-0 6-0.
Incredible display from Swiatek who lost only 13 points in the entire match that lasted only 46 minutes. This win will propel her into the top 10 of the world.
