Iga Swiatek finished her quarterfinal match and won her semifinal match to set up the final against Karolina Pliskova.
It was a strong display from Swiatek who finished off Elina Svitolina before defeating Coco Gauff 7-6(3) 6-3 to move to the final. Swiatek was very excited after the match which translated into her press conference. She said:
"I'm still kind of pumped up, so it's hard to say because adrenaline is still here. I'm still pretty young so hopefully, I'm going to be ready for tomorrow. I think so."
It was evident Swiatek felt much better in those two matches than in previous days which she admitted after the match:
"I felt really good today; it's a big difference between my previous matches and today. I was able to beat Elina, so that shows that my game is here, I'm ready for anyone. It gave me a real confidence boost."
This final is not the biggest final of her career as she already has a Grand Slam one under her belt and she won it. Even so, it could be a monumental final for her ahead of the Roland Garros which could bring her confidence. On the significance of a trophy she said:
"I'm not thinking about it really. I want to take it step by step, as in every tournament that I was playing well. Maybe after tomorrow, we can reflect on that."
