Into her fourth WTA 1000 semifinal 👊 🇵🇱 @iga_swiatek EXTENDS her win streak to 15! #MiamiOpen
It's 15 wins in a row for Iga Swiatek, as the Polish star outplayed Petra Kvitova to reach her the semifinals at the Miami Open on Wednesday.
Swiatek looked almost unstoppable in her 6-3 6-3 win over the two-time Grand Slam champion, displaying the form that saw her capture the title at Indian Wells two weeks ago.
The second seed was solid from the baseline, dictating play as she moved the veteran Czech around the court. Swiatek relied on her precision and timing to frustrate her opponent, leading to three breaks of serve that were sufficient to earn her the match. Furthermore, the soon-to-be World No.1 did not face a single break point in the match, as she overwhelmed Kvitova with consistency before eventually closing out the match after an hour and 17 minutes.
Holding one of the hottest streaks in tennis at the moment, Swiatek will look to reach another WTA 1000 final when she faces American Jessica Pegula in the semifinals on Thursday.
