Mirra Andreeva has long been a huge fan of Andy Murray and even has his Twitter reply to her in a frame which she said she carries around with her. But that she has been too shy to say hello to him in the corridors at tournaments.
But the 17-year-old seems to have finally plucked up the courage to do so as she was pictured with the former World No.1 on Friday captioning the picture: "So far so good".
She made a name for herself as well as through her wins for calling Murray a 'beautiful' and saying he had a 'beautiful face'. To which Murray replied jokingly saying she needed glasses. But the tweet in question that she put in a frame was about her mental strength.
Finally pictured with her idol who will play Stan Wawrinka in Paris, Andreeva who faces Emina Bektas previously said the tweet was in a frame and no doubt she will frame their picture together.
"When I said I would put his comment in a frame, I actually have a frame now with his comment inside!" Andreeva told Tennis Channel in Madrid.
"It was a gift from my friend, and it’s always with me in my bag," Andreeva continued. "So, when I said that, I was not joking: I did it for real!"
“I didn't see Andy Murray since Madrid because he is not here, but after he won a challenger, I texted him (laughing)," said Andreeva. "I said, 'Congratulations.' He actually answered me, so I was really happy about it. He said, Thank you, and good luck in Roland Garros.' Maybe that's why I'm playing that good now (smiling)," she said during her run last year.
Her older sister Erika Andreeva turned camerawoman and she herself will face a clash of the titans in Paris. She faces Aryna Sabalenka. Andrey Rublev was also part of the photos with Andreeva hilariously posing while the Russian put his hand around her neck. Also given recent social media images, it seems she has continued working with legendary coach Conchita Martinez.
