Venus Williams appeared to support the new tennis movie 'Challengers', starring Zendaya, and shared her thoughts on the current tennis trends like urban style. The 7-times Grand Slam champion is among the powerful names leading Lacoste's 'PlayBig' campaign alongside male world No. 1 Novak Djokovic.
Williams participated in a photoshoot for the clothing brand and gave an interview to Harper’s Bazaar about tennis and her favorite basic clothing pieces. The American tennis legend emphasized that tennis has long been a focal point where sports and fashion intersect.
“Tennis never goes out of style—it’s always trending! I’ve always loved seeing people embracing tennis-core and incorporating it into everyday style in their own unique way. Tennis has long been at the intersection of sports and fashion, and Lacoste was one of those pioneers who helped elevate sports-chic looks,” the former world No. 1 said.
The 5-times Wimbledon champion emphasized her off-court style, stating, "It's all about the mood I'm in! I always strive to be my true authentic self when it comes to fashion. I like to be unique, and I also like to wear things that I feel confident in. Finding the balance between these two is when I feel my best," Venus Williams added.
“My style is always changing and evolving. I don’t like to follow trends, though. I’m always looking for new ways to be creative and express myself, but I tend to prefer timeless, fun pieces over something that’s popular in the moment,” she concluded.
