Andy Murray won’t play at the
Rome Open which is set to begin on May 8 with the draw set to be completed on Monday morning after he withdrew late from the tournament.
Murray though was never expected to play with the former World No.1 only returning to clay over the last week. He had been practicing with Jonny O’Mara attempting to be ready for Roland Garros.
Plans were confirmed for Murray to potentially team no matter if he plays singles with Dan Evans as he looks to get the final preparation in before the Olympic Games. This has basically confirmed that he won’t have his last match at Wimbledon despite saying he wouldn’t play much after summer.
Murray suffered an ankle ligament injury at Miami with many fearing for his career ending due to injury but he didn’t need surgery and will be back at it soon enough. Just not in Rome.
