"That was worthy of No.1" says Greg Rusedski about Raducanu's level against Sakkari

Emma Raducanu will contest the US Open final today against Leylah Fernandez and former British No. 1 Greg Rusedski believes she is playing on a level worthy of No. 1.

The former pro was amazed by the level Raducanu was able to produce once more in her win over Maria Sakkari 6-1 6-4. Talking to Amazon Prime he said:

"This was something special that we just saw here. That performance is worthy of a world No 1, a US Open champion, multiple Grand Slam titles. "The calmness, the composure, the belief, the handling of the big points."

Raducanu has truly played a historic event not only because it's her 2nd appearance at a major but also because she came from the qualifiers. Outplaying players routinely allowed her to advance to the US Open final where she will play Fernandez. Rusedski believes she has everything a tennis superstar needs to have:

"This was her first semi-final of a major and it was like she was playing the first round of this event! It was astonishing. I was dumbfounded. She really has everything. When you talk about superstars she has what you call 'it'."

The final takes place tonight and it will start at 22:00 CET.
