"The women's game in Britain in 2027 is looking like it could be a good year": Emma Raducanu staying away best for her long-term hopes

Emma Raducanu has been backed to bounce back but that staying away from the sport as of right now is perhaps her best bet in the long run.
Greg Rusedski said that he sees her bouncing back in 2027 despite her suffering another setback recently in her injury recovery as he spoke on Off Court with Greg his podcast.
But adding Raducanu to the mix he said will help to further a burgeoning women's tennis scene in Britain which has seen Harriet Dart win in Guangzhou, Sonay Kartal recently reached the Wuhan final and Katie Boulter has also shown green shoots of life.
Raducanu has not been on court since Queen's, she pulled out of Wimbledon on the eve of the tournament due to a lower leg stress fracture. It means she has fallen from World No.31 in the WTA Rankings after her Queen's run and she is now down to World No.106. This is not high enough to guarantee entry to all WTA 1000 tournaments.

Raducanu looks to return to best

Raducanu has recently returned to the practice courts at the National Tennis Centre in London and posted a clip of herself serving on social media. The former US Open champion is now British No.5 and was recently surpassed by Harriet Dart following her win in the final of Guangzhou.
However Rusedski believes Raducanu will bounce back in the next year. "No question about it, this is probably good for her to have this period away and keep on building her game so she can stay healthy and consistent.
"I know she’s putting in the hours and the hard work and hopefully she can find that love and joy that she had in Queens before the unfortunate injury.
"It seems like she has a consistent team now and the women's game in Britain in 2027 is looking like it could be a good year.
"There are a little bit of question marks on the men's side with their health. Arthur Fery has been the one to kind of save this year for British men's tennis, without his result at Wimbledon and his breakthrough this year, it wouldn’t be such a good picture.
"Norrie has been an amazing career top ten player, Jack Draper we know his potential so I hope in 2027 we are not talking about injuries especially with Brits. Please… all healthy and all playing week in, week out."
