"The WTA is in a healthy financial position": WTA Chairman Steve Simon denies Kazakh Tennis VP bankruptcy and potential ATP merger claim

WTA Chairman, Steve Simon has responded to claims made by the Kazakh Tennis Federation Vice President, Yuri Polsky that the organization is in a shocking state and could go bankrupt in 2026 or 2027 in an interview with Russian tabloid, Championat.
In a statement supplied to TennisUpToDate.com in response to the original article, the chairman said that the organization is in a 'healthy financial situation' and is looking forward to a strong future.
As well as reiterating the increase of $400m in compensation over the next ten years to maintain the WTA's position.
The statement also said that a merger with the ATP is not under consideration, a topic also discussed by Polsky saying that they don't generate the same income and that people go to men's tennis more.
Reports in September from The Guardian stated that the ATP and WTA were set to meet and convene in London with a potential merger on the cards for the first time ever.
The statement says the following: “The WTA is in a healthy financial position, a merger with the ATP is not under consideration, and we are excited about our strong future during which we will continue grow and expand women’s tennis. Earlier this year, the WTA announced an increase of $400 million in compensation to players over the next 10 years maintaining the WTA’s position as the leading women’s sports organization globally."

- This financial 'chump-change' means nothing to Saba. Her vacuity likely cannot fathom the "problem" with her unprofessional actions and reactions in general. The racquet smash is not my focus. My focus was/is on her distasteful, totally unprofessional, disgusting facial expressions and eye-rolls while standing behind Elena as she spoke on the podium. - WTA has been unfairly ignoring Elena ever since Wimbledon. Arguably biased against her. Same with the most major sponsors whom normally pounce on the Wimbledon Winners for sponsorship. Didn't happen. Her unfair treatment was always in Lena's subconcious; how she was largely ignored after Wimbledon. Her sister helped her a lot during that period. Next came illnesses and minor injury. A lot of time was lost, and physical (mental?) issues were frequent, as she fought through the absurdiy and general nonsense brought-on by her coach/partner. He was a Loser then, he's a Loser still. Although he has lowered his attitude, volume, and non-stop yapping from the box since he wore the organizations out with his non-stop legal letters begging for mercy and ultimately fully reinstated. Rybakina deserves all the accolades others have enjoyed and more for her strength and will to succeed. Hope it continues.mandoist15-09-2026

That's just plain ridiculous to see some of them take minimum 30 seconds between every serve to shuffle over to their towel bin, dab their face, or wipe their handle.
