World number one
Iga Swiatek has revealed her passion for
cars and stated that she cannot wait to have another Porsche in her garage. The
22-year-old is regarded as the best player currently playing in the women’s
singles category, having won as many as four Grand Slam titles so early in her
career.
Swiatek was recently quoted in a report where she revealed
that she has a passion for cars and she cannot wait to have a Porsche in her
garage even if there is no space for it currently. "I have more cars but yeah there's always
space for Porsche,” she said. “If not, we'll make it, I'll build an underground
garage. It's a nice problem to have so I’ll be working hard to just play as
well as possible here.” Interestingly, the Polish tennis star already has two Porsche in her garage which she got after winning the
Stuttgart Open twice in 2022 and 2023.
Swiatek booked her place in the quarterfinal after beating Elise Mertens of
Belgium in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4. That win set her up for a
last-eight clash against Britain’s Emma Raducanu. Talking about it, the number-one
ranked player stated that she is not thinking about the tournament’s final already
and is taking one match at a time. "It's still a long way to the final,
even to the semifinals,” she said. “So I wanna take it step by step and this
isn't an easy tournament. Everybody is really motivated to win that car so I'll
take it step by step.”
