American tennis prodigy
Coco Gauff recently parted ways with coach
Brad Gilbert, but it appears the former World No.2 may not need to wait long before filling out the now vacant position.
Gauff split with Gilbert following the conclusion of the 2024 US Open, where the defending champion was eliminated in the round of 16. The Atlanta native has had a subpar summer, losing in the fourth round at the Canadian Open and failing to defend her Cincinnati title after an opening round loss. Although Gauff and Gilbert have worked together for 14 months, during which the American won her maiden Grand Slam title, their partnership came to an end this month following poor results in recent months.
Ex-coach of Naomi Osaka makes himself available
"Thank you @bgtennisnation! We had an incredible run and I wish you all the best in the future!" wrote Gauff in an Instagram post.
The 20-year old included a reel of their best moments together. Subsequently, a fan tagged Sascha Bajin, former hitting partner of
Serena Williams and ex-coach of Naomi Osaka, to which the German had a very simple response.
"I'm ready. They just need to call," wrote Bajin.
Bajin worked as Serena Williams' hitting partner for several years, before joining the camp of Naomi Osaka as her coach. The Japanese superstar won her first two Grand Slam trophies while working with Bajin, who would later go on to work with the likes of Karolina Pliskova, Dayana Yastremska and Kristina Mladenovic.
